Veritas Treatments
For axillary hyperhidrosis, assessed face-to-face in [CLINIC LOCATION].
Sweatox is a consultation-led treatment for excessive underarm sweating (axillary hyperhidrosis). A prescription-only medicine is used to reduce the activity of the sweat glands, and treatment is only appropriate following a face-to-face clinical consultation.
Sweatox involves a prescription-only medicine. A face-to-face consultation is required before any prescription can be issued, in line with the NMC standard effective 1 June 2025.
How it works
Small injections temporarily block the chemical signal that stimulates the underarm sweat glands, markedly reducing sweat production in the treated area.
Who it is for
This treatment may help those whose daily life is affected by excessive underarm sweating. As it involves a prescription-only medicine, suitability is assessed at a face-to-face consultation. Not suitable during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or for under-18s.
What to expect in clinic
Following consultation and, where appropriate, prescription, treatment takes around 20–30 minutes. Most clients return to normal activities immediately.
Results timeline
Effects typically begin within a week and, in current UK clinical practice, last around 6–9 months before treatment can be repeated.
